Over 50 buildings damaged by shelling in Kharkiv (updated)

The number of damaged buildings as a result of the morning shelling in Kharkiv has increased to 55.

According to the Housing and Communal Services Department, more than 2,000 windows in apartments and 685 windows in public places were smashed in the Shevchenkivskyi district on 2 January. Three roofs were also damaged.

Heating has been restored in three of the eight buildings. Three buildings remain without electricity. Some have no gas supply.

The City's utilities are repairing roofs and facades closing broken windows and doors and removing debris from the yards. The buildings are being inspected for other damage.

In total, from 29 December to 2 January, more than 130 residential buildings were damaged in Kharkiv, most of them in the Kyiv district (64).
