Kharkiv delegation took part in celebration of the Town Day of Kaunas

 

During the visit Kharkiv delegation visited state reception on behalf of Kaunas mayor Andrius Kupcinskas and met with the vice-mayor of Kaunas Vytautas Vasilenko  and the head of the international relations department and protocol of Kaunas Administration Raimundas Shmitas. In the course of the meetings the sides summarized the results of the cooperation between the cities, discussed the possibilities of participation in joint projects and the prospects for further development of partnership relations between Kharkiv and Kaunas.

 

In addition to Kharkiv representatives of 11 cities out of 8 countries also took part in the celebration: Linkoping (Sweden), Wroclaw (Poland), Bialystok (Poland), Tartu (Estonia), Brno (Czech Republic), Kaliningrad (Russia), Ferrara, Brescia , Cava de 'Tirreni (all three - Italy), Riga (Latvia) and Balti (Moldova).

 

The working visit of the delegation lasted from May 23 to May 27.

 

Note. Kaunas is a partner city of Kharkiv. The cooperation agreement between the cities was signed on April, 23 2001.
