Kharkiv will continue to receive transport from sister cities

At the beginning of 2024, Kharkiv will receive another batch of public transport rolling stock from sister cities.

This was announced today, 21 December, during a national telethon by the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov.

According to him, the support of international partners helps to compensate to some extent for the loss of rolling stock suffered by Kharkiv as a result of shelling.

"There is a deficit, but we are constantly replenishing rolling stock thanks to our partner cities. Early next year, we will receive another batch of vehicles. This is very important because there are quite a few people in Kharkiv today," said Ihor Terekhov.

The Mayor of Kharkiv also said that the Saltivske depot, which came under fire on the night of 20 December, contained previously damaged vehicles that were not used for passenger transportation. In addition, residential buildings were damaged as a result of the shelling. To keep the heat in the apartments of Kharkiv citizens, the utility company promptly closed the building circuits.
