Kharkiv and France will deepen cooperation in industrial and cultural spheres

 

It was discussed today, February 26, during the meeting of Kharkiv mayor Gennadiy Kernes and Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of French Republic in Ukraine Alain Remy.

 

"Your stay here is very important for the development of relations between France and Ukraine for Kharkiv supports traditions of international cooperation. Our city develops fast, and I suppose there is no barrier between us and we can establish and develop effective partnership", -  Gennadiy Kernes stated.

 

Alain Remy emphasized that one of the most important directions is attraction of French investors to Kharkiv. "Kharkiv and France have been cooperating for a long time and have achieved results. These are education, culture spheres. Also one of the most important tasks for today is to attract French enterprises to the city and region, in particular – industrial and agricultural directions", - Alain Remy said. According to the ambassador it is planned that Kharkiv will reorganize cultural centers for it would be possible to rationally use their opportunities for student exchange, tourism and learning French.

 

Within the visit to Kharkiv Alain Remy will meet with rectors and representatives of Kharkiv universities, visit subject-oriented school with French language advanced study and Kharkiv city public association "French Alliance".

 

It is to be recalled that Alain Remy was appointed  the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of French Republic in Ukraine in October 2011.
