Kharkiv and Cincinnati will exchange experiences in urban forestry

 

It was informed by Willie Carden, the director of Cincinnati's extensive park system during their meeting with Igor Terekhov, the deputy mayor in development and life support of Kharkiv city.

He noted that the U.S. organization is planning to cooperate with Kharkiv in the creation of small parks. It is possible that America will deliver shops, bins etc. It is also planned to invite Kharkiv  experts to Cincinnati to share the experience.

«Kharkiv is a very tidy city. People are very friendly here. Also, we like the way you decorate your city. For example, the way you lay out different words and attributes with the colors. We have much to learn from you. We will also help your specialists to learn something new in the field of urban forestry», - Willie Carden said.

Note. Cincinnati’s Park Committee began its functioning in 1906. From 1907 till 1925 70 parks and squares were created. In Cincinnati parks occupy about 5 thousand hectares today(10% of overall city area). This area includes 7 regional parks, 70 local parks, 34 national parks, 30 forest ranges, 9 sky decks, Cincinnati’s Zoo. The management of city not park resources is also a part of park committee’s job.
