We are constantly looking for the masters for Kharkiv homeless animals

Yulia Shapovalova, the director of the municipal enterprise “Animals care center” informed of it today, on the 7th of February.
This theme have become up-to-the-moment again after signing the memorandum of cooperation of Ukrainian government and Austrian charity organization “Vier Pfoten International». According to the document the Austrians were going to develop a common program on homeless animals sterilization in Kiev, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Lviv.
“The point is that the charity organization is going to catch, sterilize and let the animals go free. Unfortunately the similar experience which we had in 2008,2009,2010, was not efficient because the animals had become more aggressive after sterilization and people had suffered their bites more than before”, Yulia Shapovalova admitted. She informed that Kharkiv was ready to receive help in sterilization of animals which had been already caught and placed in the refuges and of animals of people who cannot afford sterilization for their pets.
“We are glad that the Austrians are coming with the mobile sterilization clinics, and we hope to learn something useful from them. But, according to our own experience, we know what our city really needs”? - Yulia Shapovalova admitted.
According to her words the municipal service catches the animals in the streets and place them into shelters to find new masters for them every day. Of course, watchdogs have more chances to be adopted, small animals are popular among pensioneers and lonely people. But we are constantly looking for the masters for all the animals living in our shelters”, - Yulia Shapovalova admitted.
