The restored monument to the Ball was opened in Shevchenko Garden

 

The ball did not changed, but its pedestal was reconstructed. During the restoring of the monument new electrical wiring for illumination of the monument was carried out, the pedestal was reveted with a granite and new benches were established round the ball.

 

«It is very important place, many years football fans met here, discussed games and read sport newspapers on stands. Then a monument to the ball was established here and it became a symbol of our city. The condition of the monument has considerably got worse for the last years. In cooperating with sponsors we restored the monument. It is good, that it was opened in EURO-2012 days, the visitors will be able to take photos »,- noted the deputy of the mayor in Youth, Family and UEFA EURO-2012 preparation Alexander Popov.
 

 

As the director of the UEFA EURO-2012 Preparation’s Department Alexander Nechiporenko said there was not more successful day for opening of the monument as the country is still in euphoria of the victory of Ukrainian football team got yesterday.
