First underground school was built in Kharkiv
The construction of the first underground school has been completed in the city of Kharkiv.
This was announced today, 2 April, by Mayor Ihor Terekhov on his page on the social network X. According to him, the school building is built to the highest safety standards, has 20 classrooms and is designed to accommodate 900 students in two shifts.
The Mayor said that enrolment for the next school year is almost complete. And already this academic year, 600 children will sit down at their desks. The school is currently completing the final preparations for the start of classes.
«We are grateful to our international partners, construction companies and educators for implementing this strategically important project for Kharkiv in the shortest possible time! And, looking ahead, yes, we plan to continue building similar schools in other districts of the city to ensure that all children have equal access to quality and, most importantly, safe education», - said Ihor Terekhov.
