Funding for education increased in Kharkiv 01 December, 2023

The relevant decision has been made today, 1 December, at an extraordinary session of the City Council.
 
As the Department of Budget and Finance reported, this is due to the need to bring the amount of intergovernmental transfers in line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the order of the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, which provide for an increase in the education subvention by UAH 6.6 million and a redistribution of the subvention for the implementation of transferred expenditures in the field of education in the amount of UAH 28.2 million.
 
In addition, UAH 800 thousand is provided for the overhaul of the basement (radiation shelter) at Mykola Lysenko Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
 
 
The Department noted that these changes will increase the amount of funding for socially important areas of the City's activities and ensure the fulfillment of the powers assigned to local governments.
