About 2 million flowers are planted in Kharkiv

 

The director of communal services, Victor Kitanin informed about it on August, 10.

 

According to him, the city still continues planting trees and laying theme-based garden-beds. Though heat wave made adjustments into the plans of the workers of green establishment and except watering plans it is necessary to mellow the ground to provide the access of oxygen to the plants.

 

Besides, the temperature on the surface of the ground goes to 70 degrees C so it makes it almost impossible to work at day time. The director of the department added that it has been the hottest summer for the last 110 years. He also told that petunia appeared to be the most resistant flower to the heat and there are about 12 types of them on Kharkiv garden-beds.

Victor Kitanin reminded that to the past Town day they planted 2,38 million flowers and the city mayor Gennadiy Kernes set a task to cut the record of 2011 year.
