The conception of the project "Smart night of science" was discussed in Kharkiv

 

Viktor Rud’, the director of international collaboration Department; Matthias Brandt, the director of the project of Federal German GIZ company in Ukraine; Stefan Kessler, the representative of Nuremberg city council and the honorary consul of Federal Republic of Germany – Tatiana Gavrish.

 

During the meeting they discussed the operating name and the logo of the project and specified the timing. It is planned that the event will be held on Saturday May, 26 from 5 pm till midnight. The full name of the project is "Night of Science in Kharkiv". The basis of the logo will depict the atom model what will associate with splitting of atom by Kharkiv scientists in 1932.

 

It is expected that the main topic of the "Night of Science" will be applied electronics that will be represented by Kharkiv national university of radioelectronics. Moreover, except the university of radioelectronics, other major universities and research institutes of the city will take part in the event. For it would be comfortable to move between the places, special transport will operate.

 

Stefan Kessler stressed that this event should be a platform to bring together science and business, and it will help Kharkiv to show itself to world community. According to him, in this way it is possible to establish effective coordination between education, science and economy. "Kharkiv is a bastion of science and education, and you need to take every opportunity to realize all those concepts which exist only on paper," - the representative of the city council of Nuremberg said.

 

In his turn, Matthias Brandt noted that the project "Night of Science" should be focused on local residents. "The main objective of the event is that science would escape beyond its walls, and went outside for Kharkiv citizens would see what happens in  colleges and universities of the city and the information would be understandable for them" - the director of the GIZ project in Ukraine said.
