There are about 50 abeyant bridges in Kharkiv

 

Oleksij Horoshkovatyj, executive secretary of city commission on toponomy questions informed about it today, June, 27. Mostly these are the foot bridges across the rivers Kharkiv, Udy and Lopan. Now they look for the opportunity to register the bridges and to give them official names.

 

Oleksij Horoshkovatyj reminded that at the last session of the Kharkiv city council official nameswere given to 58 bridges that belong to community property. Only about 15 of them had the names and other are nameless.
 

«To improve records and to give the name to each object of the city we have decided to make a certain work and to give official names to the bridges. From one side we have formalised the existing names or returned the historical names to unnamed objects», - the secretary told.
