Kharkiv Days were held in the Slovak city of Košice

Kharkiv Days were held on 12-14 March in the partner city of Košice (the Slovak Republic).
The events were held within the framework of the Slovak-Ukrainian project "Cities in the Enlarged European Area" with the participation of representatives of government agencies of Slovakia and Ukraine, diplomats, representatives of NGOs, municipalities, scientific and technical institutions, the business sector, and peacekeeping organisations.
In particular, The Ukraine-Slovakia forum was held, attended by representatives of the official delegation of Kharkiv. During the event there were discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation between the countries, in particular, the protection of critical infrastructure during the war, the creation of a partnership network between organisations in Slovakia and Ukraine, support for humanitarian initiatives, and the exchange of experience in the high-tech sectors of aviation and space industry.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was also signed between the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency, and a Memorandum of Establishment of the SPIRIT Research Centre between JSC FED and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice.
In addition, the events included workshops to discuss the impact of green energy and the circular economy, and the strengthening of the role of socially responsible business. The partner city also organised an exhibition of drawings by children from Kharkiv on the theme "The World I Want to Live In" with the assistance of the UN Peacekeepers Organisation.
First Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv Oleksandr Novak welcomed the participants of the forum and expressed his gratitude to the city of Košice for the fruitful cooperation in the field of inter-municipal cooperation.
"Within the framework of the project of cities in the enlarged European space, we perceive this cooperation as a sign of trust. The implementation of this project and its positive results will give Kharkiv the opportunity to participate in other European projects in the future," said Oleksandr Novak.
