Soviet symbols on City Council building to be replaced with Ukrainian ones

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said this in an interview with the Dumka media outlet.

‘These symbols will certainly be removed. We have now covered them, and I will explain why. Because we don’t want to spend extra money. First, it is an architectural monument, and changes to its appearance require certain approvals. Second, Ukrainian symbols should appear instead. Now we will see what exactly. There will be several draft designs. When we choose, we will do it,’ said Ihor Terekhov.
