Problems of evacuation of population from the border were discussed in Kharkiv

Today, on May 15, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov took part in a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the evacuation of the population under martial law.

The event was chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by representatives of international organizations and charitable foundations.

Igor Terekhov noted that a large flow of evacuated residents is coming to Kharkiv from the border areas of the region, where the enemy has intensified hostilities. All of them need to be accommodated, provided with basic necessities, employed or trained, provided with medical care, etc.

At the same time, the mayor noted, Kharkiv is under enemy fire almost every day. In particular, the day before, seven "arrivals" were recorded in the city, which once again damaged civilian infrastructure. Volunteers and international organizations are helping the city to overcome the consequences of enemy attacks, and, according to the mayor, Kharkiv is counting on their help in preparing for the heating season.

"It is very important that we all stand together. Kharkiv needs to purchase autonomous equipment to decentralize its energy, heat and water supply systems.  These are primarily gas generators and cogeneration units. We have already booked this equipment and are counting on your support," said Igor Terekhov.
