About fifty volunteers help foreign fans at the Kharkov train stations

50 volunteers - students of Ukrainian Railway Transport Academy work in four shifts on train stations in Kharkiv during UEFA EURO 2012.

 
Volunteer programme in train stations was launched last year in autumn. The students of academy who wish to take part in it have been trained in Kharkov city center and are now working at the stations of Kharkiv.
 
«We have been preparing actively to UEFA EURO 2012 for two years, - says stationmaster. -  We have also prepared 40 cashiers with the knowledge of foreign languages. We have made a contract with 35 students who work at the station and other 5 in an aid post».
 
In addition, four professional interpreters work with station operator on duty. Foreign travelers can have information and reference booklet about Kharkiv city from volunteers. There are information stands in English as well. The speaker makes announcements in English, Russian and Ukrainian languages.
 
The volunteers work 24 hours long in a shifts. They have already communicated with Dutch, German, English, Portuguese, Polack and Chinese. Volunteers note that that all the foreigners are pleasant and benevolent.
