On University hill euro flower-bed is opened

 

Director of community facilities Victor Kitanin reminded that this flower garden is appeared for the third time at the begining of summer in Kharkov.

 

«Carpet flower garden is laid out with the agreement of Unity of european football association UEFA. The emblem of Euro-2012 is intellectual property of UEFA and they strictly monitor its legal use. That is why we have no right to change colors of the flower-bed each year. This flower-bed is a symbol of our city that is well-deserved to receive European Football Championship,» - emphasized department director.

 

He informed that the size of flower-bed is 8 m х 5,3 m. The gross area of it is 42,2 sq.m and about 18 thousand of carpet flowers are planted there.

 

According to experts of CF «Kharkivzelenstoi» carpet flower-bed is a method of bedding ground plants with the leaves of different color which usually does not overwinter in our climate. As the result complex patterns are formed and they remind oriental carpet-like pattern. There are cineraria, sedum, ahirantes, alternanthera, coleus, some species of wormwood among the flowers of of Euro-2012 flower-bed.
