Michel Platini estimated readiness of Ukraine to EURO-2012 highly

“But there are many small tasks and problems which must be solved. The terminal I have opened today is not bad, the stadium is beautiful. We are going to work at problems in transport system and hotel complex, - Michel Platini admitted. – According to the other cities of Euro, in Lviv, for example, there is no covering in the stadium, the air strip in Donetsk is not ready. Two years ago we had a question of the very possibility of organizing EURO in Ukraine. A year ago we were deciding should we spend it in two cities or in four. Now we have four cities and we must use the time left to prepare the championship in the most effective way”.
Within his visit the President of UEFA watched the stadium complex “Metallist” and had a working meeting with the leaders of the city and the region.
“I would like to thank the leaders of UEFA for their patience to Ukraine during the last several years. It was easier to win the right of receiving the championship than to keep the equal share of receiving it with Poland. And we made huge efforts for Michel Platini admittance about our readiness to the championship and those small problems we still have. The optimism which changed pessimism and skepticism is obvious. That is why we can just applause to the leaders of UEFA for their patience, or the tournament could be made in other format and in other country quite possibly”, - the President of Football Federation of Ukraine Grigory Surkis admitted.
