Kharkiv ropeway is opened after the basic repair

 

Volodimir Davtjan, the director of «Association of culture and leisure parks in Kharkiv city», informed this on August, 6.

 

According to his information, they replaced 3 km of the rope, changed apron rolls and box bearing, renovated and painted the cabins.

 

Volodimir Davtjan specified  that repairing activities began in the middle of July and on August, 4 – the renovated ropeway started its work. 

 

«The ropeway is opened after the basic repair and is fully ready to welcome the visitors. We have deliberately chosen the middle of the summer for the repairing works as it is the time for vacation. Besides, it is very hot period and kharkovites go to summer house or to the river. The prime time of visiting the ropeway is in May and August», - the director told.

 

Moreover the price for a ride has not changed. It is 10 UAH in one way.

 

The last time the basic repair was carried 10 years ago.

 

Note. Aerial ropeway was put into operation in 1971. Its route goes through Gorky Park and Sarzhin Yar. The general length is 1387 metres. The number of cabins is 124. The height varies from 8 to 26 meters. The time of a ride is 18 minutes.
