Kharkiv plans to receive the status of the city with optimal conditions for children by the end of the year

 

Svitlana Gorbunova-Ruban - deputy mayor on healthcare and social security questions - informed about it during the meeting with the delegation of UN in Ukraine headed by the chairman of  UNICEF - Yukie Mokuo.

 

According to deputy mayor "Child friendly city" is the programme that provides municipal governance system that allows holding activites in healthcare, social security and education. The result of the activities will provide favourable conditions for the birth and upbringing of children. Also this project is oriented to defence of children’s civil rights. Kharkiv joined the countrywide project last year.

Besides, Kharkiv is the first major city where UNICEF will implement this programme.
