Kharkiv is waiting for VIP-guests for the matches of EURO-2012

The director of the Department on issues of preparing EURO-2012 Alexander Nechiporenko informed of that on the 4th of January in the press center of Kharkiv city council.
He has told of negotiations of Dutch queen visit. Representatives of Netherlands are going to visit Kharkiv on the 23rd of January in order to find a residence for Her Majesty. It is known that Beatrix wished to be present at each of three matches of her national team. Alexander Nechiporenko also noticed a possibility of German chancellor Angela Merkel visiting the match between Germany and Netherlands.
The director of the department said that no one of VIP-guests had wished to stay in Kharkiv for night yet. They are going to take charters for matches and depart after its ending.
“Of course, there will be persons of high rate at each national team matches. We are getting ready for this. I can also say that for about 2 thousand Americans are planning to visit Kharkiv during EURO-2012. About 200 thousand fans are going to visit Kharkiv during ten days of EURO-2012 matches”, - Alexander Nechiporenko noticed.
He also told that UEFA and countries-participants of the championship inform Kharkiv of the number of fans coming to each match. Each group is planned to be visited by 40 thousand people.
The director of the Department added that they expected visits of representatives of football federations of countries-participants of EURO-2012 since the 20th of December to negotiate about issues of settling. Meanwhile the footballers themselves are still deciding the problem of their settling and training. Alexander Nechiporenko noticed that the Dutch team was considering two variants: leaving in “Superior Golf Club” and training at the base in “Solnechny” or living in “Metallist” hotel and training at the club base in Vysoky settlement.
