Kharkiv 2012 is a leader in international relations

 

The rapid development of infrastructure, active cultural and sports life, reconstruction of historical sites have helped to make the city a new image. This summer Kharkiv discovered thousands of tourists from all over Europe. Most of them haven’t heard much about our city, and it was pleasant for them to see beautiful architecture, convenient transportation and the high level of preparation to the competitions.

 

Kharkiv has done major efforts in development of tourism infrastructure to Euro 2012. 28 hotels of different categories appeared in the city what helped to solve the problem of the deployment of foreign visitors not only during the tournament, but in the years ahead. Kharkiv opened temporary tourist information rooms, and developed new tourist routes for the time of competition. Such a large-scale tournament gave the city a priceless experience in the hospitality industry, and we can safely say it for sure that now Kharkiv ready to welcome all guests.

 

The city represents its preliminary work in the sphere of tourism in all kinds of exhibitions and fairs. The delegation from Kharkiv participated in the International Tourism Exhibition “ITB” in Berlin. The institutors of the exhibition highly appreciated the creative strategy of the floor case of the city and creativity of the company.

 

Another important area of Kharkiv in the international arena is an establishment of the partnership and twinning with cities of different countries. The five-year partnership with the Chinese city Jinan this year was reinforced with the memorandum - the cities continue their mutual cooperation in issues of infrastructure, local government, science and the environment. Kharkiv also signed a partnership agreement with the Slovenian Maribor and Georgian Tbilisi. The cities will share their experiences in the economic, tourist and cultural areas.

 

In addition, short-term plans of Kharkiv are to establish partnerships with Genoa (Italy), Daejeon (South Korea), Skopje (Republic of Macedonia), Casablanca (Kingdom of Morocco). Delegations from these cities visited Kharkiv and distinguished the high rate of its development. All this shows that the city strengthens its reputation of reliable business partner, as well as an attractive region for investment.

 

Authoritative "Financial Times" also confirmed this opinion and admitted Kharkiv to be the best  city in economical efficiency in Eastern Europe. Therewith, the economic potential, human resources, cost effectiveness, quality of life, infrastructure and business were taken into account. Now Kharkiv is really the leader in terms of investment of Ukrainian cities and the volume of exports have recently increased significantly. The best proof of the positive reputation of Kharkiv in the international arena is the fact that global giants as «Shell», «Nestle» and «Playtech» expressed the intention to cooperate with the city this year.

 

All these achievements, both at the international and at national level, gradually lead Kharkiv to its strategic goal: to enter the top hundred cities by 2030. That is why the constant dialogue with partners from other countries is very significant as it provides the right direction for the development of the city.
