In Kharkiv due to bad weather there was an accident on power grids
As a result of worsening weather conditions, the day before in Kharkiv there was a serious accident in the energy system.
This was reported today, 15 December, on the air of the national telethon by the Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov. According to him, the accident could leave a significant part of Kharkiv without heating. This was avoided thanks to the connection of boiler houses to alternative energy sources which the City had purchased in advance.
"We managed to keep the heat in residential houses because we switched to generators which we bought during the preparation for the heating season. And I am very grateful to "Kharkivski teplovi merezhi" and power engineers who worked all night. Currently, everything is already connected to the power grid. It was the first serious challenge this winter, which we coped with", said Ihor Terekhov.
The Mayor also said that the consequences of bad weather in the City are eliminated daily by about 2.5 thousand employees of utility companies.
