Ihor Terekhov addresses the residents of Kharkiv on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Victory

Address of Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War.

"The price paid by the Ukrainian people in the fight against the Nazi invasion is too high. Millions of human lives, destroyed destinies and burnt dreams of more than one generation of Ukrainians.

Unfortunately, the Second World War did not teach the russians anything. And today, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of those with whom our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought side by side against the Nazis have come to our land with the war.

Directing thousands of projectiles and missiles at Ukraine every day, they destroy our cities and villages, take the lives of our people, and mutilate the destinies of the living and the unborn.

But, just like 79 years ago, evil will inevitably be punished, and each of us will do our best to do so. In memory of all those who were taken away by the terrible war. For the sake of a peaceful and independent Ukraine."
