Ihor Terekhov: We are creating a new economic model for the development of Kharkiv

The Master Plan of the City of Kharkiv will be aimed at creating a new economic model of development.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov announced this today, February 1, at a meeting with the staff of the Kharkiv Scientific Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to the Mayor, Kharkiv should become a self-sufficient city where people would like to live and work. This is the goal of the plan’s developers led by British architect Norman Foster.
‘This is not just a drawn architecture. The Master Plan is a roadmap for our future generations. It pays great attention to the economy which is the foundation for the development of all spheres of life. We are designing something that has never been done in any city in Ukraine. This will be a step-by-step action plan which will involve the greatest economists from Oxford and Harvard. It will be supported by investments,’ said Ihor Terekhov.
According to the Mayor, the City plans to build industrial and scientific parks.
‘We have to launch a new generation of production. Kharkiv and its budget must become self-sufficient,’ the Mayor emphasized.
