Ihor Terekhov: Without US assistance, Kharkiv risks becoming a "second Aleppo"

Without military assistance from the United States of America and modern air defence equipment, Kharkiv, which is undergoing massive attacks from russia, canbecome a "second Aleppo".

This is what Mayor Ihor Terekhov told the British newspaper The Guardian, referring to the Syrian city of Aleppo, which was heavily bombed by russian and Syrian government forces ten years ago.

The Mayor said that the aggressor country has recently intensified shelling of Kharkiv's energy infrastructure and residential areas. According to Ihor Terekhov, 1.3 million Kharkiv residents are currently suffering from russian terror, and modern air defence systems are needed to protect them.

The Mayor of Kharkiv stressed that the $60 billion US military aid package, which is currently stuck in Congress, is of critical importance to Ukraine.

"We need this support so that Kharkiv does not become a second Aleppo," said Ihor Terekhov.
