British experts held a workshop on controlling the number of stray animals

 

The event is supported by British organization «Naturewatch». Two-day seminar is given by Brian Faulkner, leading international expert in humane and efficient control of stray animals population.

 

Debbie Dawson, the head of the campaign in a help of stray pets in Ukraine noted that British organization «Naturewatch» has a wide experience in this sphere and they are ready to share it for the situation with homeless animals in Ukraine got better. According to Debbie Dawson one of the most important problems in our country is insufficient awareness of society in questions of stray animals population control.

 

Forty people take part in the workshop. These are the representatives of 14 cities of Ukraine – Kiev, Lviv, Cherkassy, Lugansk, Donetsk, Dneprodzerzhinsk, Dnipropetrovsk. In view of the results of the event British organization will give guidelines in solution of the problem with stray animals.

 

The participants of the seminar will also learn material and technical basis of the center and with the methods of control of stray animals population in Kharkiv.

 

Except for the seminar, the initiators will also hold practical studies and will demonstrate the methods of trapping and keeping of dogs, will tell about health standards for the animal shelters.

 

There are 250 dogs and about 60 cats in the shelter at the moment.
