Anna Ushenina from Kharkiv won the World Chess Championship

 

In the tiebreaker Ukrainian sportswoman overcame Bulgarian Antoaneta Stefanova. Previous game finals were held on November, 27-30: first and second games ended in a draw, Kharkiv sportswoman won the third game, and Bulgarian won the fourth one. The total score of the match is 3,5:2,5 in favor of Anna Ushenina.

 

Let’s note that Anna Ushenina is the first Ukrainian sportswoman that has won the title of World champion in chess since Independence of the country.

 

Note. Ushenina Anna was born on August, 30 in 1985. She is International Grandmaster, International Master of men, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, member of the women's national team of Ukraine. On November, 1 with the rating 2452 among women she took up the 38th position in the world. Multiple winner and champion of Ukraine among girls and women, a champion of Europe among girls under 18 in the national team of Ukraine and a silver medalist at the 1st board (2002), champion of the Women's World Chess Olympiad in the national team of Ukraine (Turin, Italy, 2006), a silver medalist of the World women's chess Olympiad in the national team of Ukraine (Dresden, Germany, 2008), bronze medalist of the European women (Nalchik, Russia, 2008), bronze medalist of world championships (Ningbo, China) and Europe (Novi Sad, Serbia ) among women in the national team of Ukraine (2009), bronze medalist of the World women's chess Olympiad (Istanbul, Turkey, 2012).
