A digital hub to support businesses and communities will be created in Kharkiv

The creation of the Eastern Ukraine EDIH (European Digital Innovation Hub) is underway in Kharkiv. This new digital transformation centre will serve five regions in eastern Ukraine.

The project is being implemented without the targeted allocation of funds from the city budget, thanks to funding from international partners, in particular the European Commission through the Digital Europe Programme. Additional activities will be implemented with funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine.

The hub's activities will cover the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions. Its goal is to help the regions overcome the consequences of the war by applying the principle of ‘Build back better’ - recovery through digitalisation.
The project is coordinated by the Kharkiv IT Cluster, which has joined forces with Ukrainian universities, scientific institutions, local authorities and technology companies.

The consortium also includes the Ukrainian Science and Technology Centre, the National Aerospace University named after M. Ye. Zhukovsky ‘Kharkiv Aviation Institute’, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, the municipal institution ‘Kharkiv Reform Office’ and the ‘Cyber Action’ platform.

Eastern Ukraine EDIH will provide support for digital transformation, in particular through needs assessment and the development of individual roadmaps, fundraising courses, training in innovative technologies, and consultations on partnership and internationalisation issues.

The hub will focus on representatives of small, medium and large businesses, as well as communities, municipalities and public sector institutions.
