5000 Kharkiv kids will receive tickets for aqua gymnastics

 

Tickets will be given to moms through children's clinics under a new city project «To swim before to walk». Its presentation was held on August, 28 at the sports club «Aqua Sport». This institution along with Department of Health and with the support of the people's deputy Irina Berezhnaya initiated and organized the project.

 

During the presentation, Deputy Mayor for Health and Social Welfare Svetlana Gorbunova-Ruban stressed that the new project is a logical maintenance of last year. Last year five thousand tickets for the one aqua class were provided to pregnant women. 175 women have taken an advantage of the tickets since August, 2011. 36 of them got through the full-time course.

 

Since August 2011 subscriptions benefited 175 women, 36 of whom completed the full course of classes.

 

«The nation's health begins with the health of a mother. Last year we started a project on improving the health of pregnant women. This project continues and we are launching another one - health improvement of a child», - Svetlana Gorbunova-Ruban said.

 

In addition, according to people's deputy Irina Berezhnaya 24 subscription for a full course of classes will be provided to children with beneficiaries who reside in the Kiev district. «I always support initiatives that are aimed at the general good cause. Improvement of children's health is the future of the country. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of this program», - Irina Berezhnaya emphasized.

 

According to the director of the Department of Health Yurij Sorokolat, children will be selected by  special committee on the basis of children's clinics.
