Cycling concept to be updated in Kharkiv

The issue of updating the Cycling Concept was discussed by the deputies of the Kharkiv City Council at an extraordinary session on 19 August.
They decided to invalidate the concept approved in 2016. According to the Department of Construction and Roads, this version of the bicycle infrastructure no longer meets the current challenges and needs of the city, as well as the requirements of regulatory documents, and therefore needs to be updated.
‘We will create a new programme that will promote the development of cycling, which should be in every modern city. To do this, we will hold consultations, including with the public. We will make sure that the concept meets all the necessary requirements,’ said Mayor Igor Terekhov.
