Despite the constant shelling, Kharkiv continues to receive evacuees from the Kupyansk, Lipetsk and Vovchansk directions.
This was reported to journalists by Mayor Igor Terekhov. According to him, since May 10, when the enemy intensified offensive actions in the border areas, Kharkiv has received more than 11 thousand evacuated citizens.
“They are in a very difficult emotional state. We have accommodated them in hostels, provided some financial support and are helping them with paperwork. There is a lot of work ahead, including working with psychologists, because people have been left without anything,” said Igor Terekhov.
According to him, about 215,000 internally displaced persons officially live in Kharkiv.
