Igor Terekhov: Kharkiv supports citizens with benefits

Despite the significant burden on the city budget, Kharkiv will continue to support its citizens with benefits in various areas of public life.
Mayor Igor Terekhov said this in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine news agency.
The mayor noted that today Kharkiv is the only city in Ukraine with free public transport, as many people cannot afford to spend money on it during the war. In addition, 40-45 thousand people are fed free of charge every day in Kharkiv.
«We are introducing many benefits for people to stay in Kharkiv. The city authorities have taken an unprecedented step by cancelling local taxes and fees for businesses. This is done to ensure that entrepreneurs have working capital and stay in Kharkiv. Also, many small businesses received free generators and start-ups. ‘Yes, today there is a very heavy burden on the city budget, as the cost of electricity has almost quadrupled. But we need to help people, and we will continue to do so», - said Igor Terekhov.
