In Kharkiv, 5,000 schoolchildren will study in a combined format

In the new academic year, 5,000 pupils of Kharkiv schools will study in a combined format.

This was announced today, 18 August, by Mayor Igor Terekhov on the air of a national telethon.

According to him, an underground school has been built in Kharkiv to ensure that children can learn in a safe environment. In addition, work is nearing completion on equipping classrooms at another metro station (the sixth).

‘There will be a combined education system, and 5,000 children will use it. There are currently 50,000 schoolchildren in Kharkiv, and the existing facilities are certainly not enough. We are currently building three more underground schools. We won't complete all the work by 1 September, but children will be able to study in these institutions from the second quarter of the year,’ said Igor Terekhov.

The construction of underground schools in three districts of Kharkiv is funded by the city budget.
