International Educational Conference takes place in Kharkiv
The international conference "Kharkiv: Education Under Ground," dedicated to the restoration of the educational process and the improvement of service quality in the frontline regions, is taking place today, on February 26, in the City of Kharkiv.
Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov, in his welcoming speech, emphasized that despite the war, Kharkiv pays significant attention to the education of children. He shared the City's readiness to share its experience with other regions.
"For us, the education of children is paramount because children are our future. The subway school project was the first step in restoring the educational process in extreme conditions. A real school was organized at five metro stations. Our goal was not only education but also the socialization of children," - highlighted Ihor Terekhov.
The City's leader mentioned that the possibilities of the The subway school are now exhausted.
"That's why we are building a real underground school, where 450 students will study in two shifts. Such schools will appear in all nine districts of the City of Kharkiv," - announced the Mayor.
The conference was organized by the public organization "Me and My School," with sponsorship from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
