Kharkiv to receive energy equipment from the UN

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will provide Kharkiv with generating equipment with a capacity of over 80 MW.

The assistance will be provided under the Green Energy Recovery Programme in Ukraine and Transformational Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine projects. The equipment will provide the city's critical infrastructure with backup power. This will help reduce the load on the energy system and allow for the provision of heat and water supply services even during blackouts.

‘We are very grateful to UNDP, the European Union and the governments of Japan, Norway and Sweden for supporting the city in implementing the generation distribution strategy and for their invaluable contribution to the city's energy stability. The city authorities and relevant utility companies continue to cooperate with various donors and funds to ensure the city's vital activity on a daily basis,’ the Kharkiv City Council said.
