Kharkiv will receive additional cogeneration equipment

The Norwegian government will purchase cogeneration units for Kharkiv, which are an important part of creating an ‘energy island’.
This was announced today, 27 March, by Mayor Igor Terekhov at a briefing after the transfer of a solar power plant to a Kharkiv hospital.
‘This is very important for us, because we need to create an ‘energy island’ so that we do not depend on other regions. The way we are going through the heating season now is also thanks to Norway's support. We already have the opportunity to switch to cogeneration equipment during peak hours. We have very important projects in the energy sector. And I am confident that such support will enable us to withstand the energy crisis,’ said Ihor Terekhov.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide noted that the Norwegian government will continue to support Ukraine not only in restoring damaged energy facilities but also in the transition to European quality standards for energy supply.
