The Mayor of Lille expressed support for Kharkiv and Ukraine
The sister city of Lille (France) supported Kharkiv and all of Ukraine in the struggle for territorial integrity and independence.
During the conversation today, February 23, Mayor of Lille Martine Aubry stressed the need for European support for Ukrainians.
«Peace talks cannot be held without Ukraine’s participation in this process. Ukraine must be at the center of these negotiations and decide its own fate. Its sovereignty and territorial integrity are not a condition for negotiations. France and all of Europe must stand by us now», - Martine Aubry stressed.
She also said that Lille has been supporting Kharkiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In particular, the sister city is hosting young Kharkiv residents for vacation.
«We continue to cooperate with the city authorities of Kharkiv and support its residents in every way. Lille has already hosted two groups of 50 children for vacation and will soon host another one. This gives children an opportunity to relax from the stressful situation they are in all the time», - Martine Aubry noted.
