Kharkiv receives an operational vehicle for rescuers

Today, on 24 August, the Department of Emergency Situations received an operational vehicle from the sister city of Albuquerque (USA).

The vehicle was handed over by the American firefighters to the Direct Aid charity foundation and the Kharkiv volunteer association.

This was facilitated by Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, President of the Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation Pam Feather, as well as Harbir Bhatia (International Sister Cities Association in Ukraine), Jim Bowers (representative of the people of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation), George Klapischak (Albuquerque and Kharkiv are partner cities), and Richard Buckler (International Sister Cities Association).

Bohdan Gladkykh, Director of the Emergency Situations Department, thanked them for their assistance and noted that the vehicle is equipped with all the necessary equipment to organise work to eliminate the consequences of disasters, destruction and large-scale fires.

Prior to the transfer, the vehicle was in service with the Albuquerque Fire Department.
