The Italian city of Turin has donated ten buses to Kharkiv to improve the city's public transport system.

The transfer of equipment took place today, June 6, in Kyiv during a meeting between Mayor Igor Terekhov, Piedmont Governor Alberto Cirio, and Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo.

This support was the result of agreements reached during Igor Terekhov's trip to Italy in March. At that time, the parties discussed ways of cooperation in the field of urban infrastructure restoration, transport support, and Italian business participation in projects for Kharkiv.

The buses will soon arrive in the city and start operating on routes.

The mayor of Kharkiv thanked his Italian partners for providing public transport and stressed the critical importance of the sustainable functioning of the city's transport system, which is regularly subjected to enemy shelling.

“This is another example of how international partnerships bear real fruit. Kharkiv already receives transport support from Nuremberg, Brno, Pilsen, and other cities, and now from Turin as well. I would like to thank Mayor Stefano Lo Russo and Governor Alberto Cirio for this gesture of solidarity. We will continue to expand the circle of Kharkiv's friends in Europe, because the support of our partners is also a resource for our resilience,” said Ihor Terekhov.
