The European Investment Bank will continue to support Kharkiv

The Mayor of the City of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov held a working meeting with the Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Regional Office for Eastern Europe Kristina Mikulova on 3 June.
The parties discussed the implementation of ongoing infrastructure projects and further cooperation in the context of the war.
During the visit, the bank's representatives got acquainted with the operation of the Kharkiv metro and inspected the districts of Northern Saltіvka destroyed by enemy shelling.
Igor Terekhov emphasised the critical importance of the metro for Kharkiv and stressed the need for its expansion and modernisation.
«Your visit is of great importance to us. We look forward to further cooperation. Despite the war, we pay great attention to transport development. The metro is the main carrier in the city. We are grateful to the EIB for its continued support and want to build new metro stations. The European Investment Bank is our strategic partner, with whom we associate the implementation of major infrastructure projects both now and after the end of the war», - said Igor Terekhov.
In her turn, Kristina Mikulova emphasised the EIB's priorities, in particular the development of sustainable energy and environmentally friendly transport.
«We are honoured to be a partner of Kharkiv. We are here with our colleagues to discuss further opportunities for cooperation. Green urban transport is one of the main areas of EU support. We understand the importance of the Kharkiv metro and are open to considering options for including relevant projects in the guaranteed financing programmes», - said Kristina Mikulova.
