Igor Terekhov met with the Ambassador of Albania

Igor Terekhov emphasized that despite the difficult military conditions, the city authorities continue to support citizens, restore infrastructure and build international relations.

“When friends of Ukraine come to frontline Kharkiv, it is an important signal of support for our country and our city. Today, we continue to live under the threat of shelling: sometimes it subsides, sometimes it resumes. But Kharkiv residents remain strong in spirit. We are not stopping the city's recovery - we are reconstructing houses, civilian facilities, and critical infrastructure,” the mayor said. 

In his turn, Philo Hernal expressed solidarity with the city's residents and emphasized that the Albanian government has supported Ukraine at all international levels since the first days of the war and will continue to do so.

“We admire you! Today I have seen with my own eyes the destruction caused by the enemy aggression not only in Kharkiv. But we are with you, with the brave Ukrainian people. The opening of the Albanian Embassy in Ukraine - right now, in this difficult period - is our clear signal to the world that we are with Ukraine to the end. Yesterday, we supported the decision of NATO countries on the tribunal for the crimes of the Russian Federation. This is our principled position: justice must prevail. We also visited the destroyed building of the Honorary Consulate of Albania in Kharkiv, because for us it is not only a material loss, but also a symbol of an attack on friendship and common values,” the ambassador emphasized.
