Ihor Terekhov: Kharkiv receives significant international support

International banks, financial institutions and investors support the city of Kharkiv in overcoming wartime challenges.
Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov told about that to journalists following the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions held in Kyiv.
The Mayor said that during the period of the full-scale invasion, not a single project with foreign partners on the development of Kharkiv was canceled.
“There were some delays. But now we are starting to build two subway stations and purchase rolling stock. In addition, during the war, one of European banks provided Kharkiv with a EUR 25 million loan for the purchase of electric buses. We also have agreements with Germany, which will help us to restore the energy sector,” said Ihor Terekhov.
The Mayor emphasized that the priority now is to cooperate with international organizations to ensure the success of the next heating season. He also said that Kharkiv is waiting for the delivery of cogeneration equipment that will help differentiate heating and energy supply systems.
