Igor Terekhov in Berlin: Security is the number one issue for Kharkiv

Today, on June 11, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov took part in a panel discussion at the Ukraine Recovery Conference.

The event is being held in Berlin. It is attended by more than 2,000 people from more than 60 countries representing various spheres of politics, business, civil society and municipal authorities.

The mayor of Kharkiv joined the discussion, which focused on uniting efforts to restore Ukraine.

Ihor Terekhov noted that security is the main issue for Kharkiv, which suffers from shelling by the occupiers almost every day. In May alone, the mayor noted, the city experienced 76 attacks by the Russian aggressor and about 20 days of air raids. He also said that the enemy had attacked Kharkiv the day before. The shelling resulted in civilian casualties, including one death.

“It's not from a good life that we build underground schools and organize training in the subway. It is not from a good life that our people hide in the underground during air raids. This is another proof that we need the most modern air defense system! To keep people alive! Security is the most important issue for us,” emphasized Igor Terekhov.
