Igor Terekhov met with the Ambassador of France

The mayor thanked the Ambassador for France's continued support for Kharkiv. Ihor Terekhov recalled the visit of the French delegation on Bastille Day this year, when the city received generators for critical infrastructure facilities.

‘Your help was invaluable then, and I hope that our cooperation in this area will continue. We are already implementing large-scale projects to decentralise the city's life support systems: we are modernising heating networks, building mobile boiler houses, and installing new cogeneration equipment. We also have several projects under development, including a solar energy project. Detailed calculations have been carried out for each of these projects, and we need the support of international partners to implement them,’ said Ihor Terekhov.

The French Ambassador, in turn, expressed his readiness to support Kharkiv and facilitate the implementation of the projects.

‘We will analyse how we can help you, because we want such energy projects to be implemented not only in the capital but also in other regions of Ukraine. And Kharkiv certainly deserves special attention in this regard,’ Gael Weser stressed.

The meeting participants also touched upon the support of educational initiatives and assistance to internally displaced persons. Igor Terekhov noted that the population of Kharkiv has now stabilised at around 1.2 million people, of which around 200,000 are IDPs from the regions where active hostilities are taking place.
