Igor Terekhov held talks with the Czech government commissioner

Today, on 13 September, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov discussed further cooperation with Tomáš Kopeční, the Czech Commissioner for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

The focus was on cooperation in the energy and healthcare sectors.

Igor Terekhov thanked the Czech Republic for its comprehensive support of Kharkiv and noted that the city authorities are currently working on full decentralisation of heat, water and power supply systems to ensure a stable heating season.

‘Our main task now is to provide people and businesses with heat, water and electricity in winter. We are in a very difficult situation because we no longer have our own generation since the end of March. The Czech Republic was one of the first countries to respond to our request for support and donated two cogeneration units to Kharkiv. We are looking forward to strengthening our cooperation in the future,’ said Igor Terekhov.

According to Tomáš Kopeční, it is important for the Czech Republic to help Kharkiv ensure energy security so that people can stay in the city in winter.
‘It is important for us that Kharkiv residents, social infrastructure and business are provided with all the necessary services and resources,’ said Tomáš Kopeční.
