Ihor Terekhov discussed the reconstruction of Kharkiv with international organizations

Today, April 18, Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov discussed preparations for the upcoming heating season and restoration of damaged housing with representatives of international organizations that are part of the "Shelter Cluster" association.
The participants of the meeting summed up the work of the past year and agreed on the continuation of cooperation on programs for the restoration of residential buildings and elimination of the consequences of attacks on the City's energy system.
According to Ihor Terekhov, among the priority tasks is the preparation of Kharkiv's heating system for next winter and the restoration of stable electricity supply. At the same time, the Mayor noted that in cooperation with international funds and partners, damaged houses will continue to be reconstructed in Kharkiv.
"We are going through very difficult times, and I thank everyone who responds to our calls for support. After all, today it is important for all of us to unite in order to prove to the people of Kharkiv that the enemy has no chance of success. We need to do everything to stabilize the electricity supply and provide citizens with heat and hot water in the next heating season. From our side, we are open to each of you," said the Mayor, addressing the representatives of "Shelter Cluster".
Thanks to the work of the organizations included in this association, in 2023 it was possible to restore 33,000 homes in Kharkiv. During the meeting, the coordinator of the "East Hub" housing cluster, Renee Wynveen, informed about this.
"We worked with emergency response programmes. That is, immediately after the attacks, we arrived at the sites of the strikes in order to minimize the consequences of the shelling. And then we also performed light and medium repairs. We consider it very important to continue to help," said Renee Wynveen.
