France will help Kharkiv create an ‘energy island’

French partners will help create a so-called ‘energy island’ in Kharkiv.

This was announced today, 5 November, during a national telethon by Mayor Igor Terekhov.

The mayor noted that this issue is extremely important for Kharkiv, which has lost its own power generation due to enemy shelling.

‘We need to build a so-called ‘energy island’ to have a stable electricity supply. This will determine how Kharkiv residents will live. During the talks with the French Ambassador, we outlined certain steps for France to join the implementation of this project. We are confident that we will build this ‘island’ together, and Kharkiv will be practically independent in terms of energy. Yes, it will take some time and procedures, but we are moving in this direction, and I am confident that we will do it,’ said Igor Terekhov.

The mayor also noted that the implementation of this project is expensive, so the city authorities are actively working to attract funding from the state and international partners.
