Kharkiv and Lviv to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the national project «Side by Side: Cohesive Hromadas» between Kharkiv City Council and Lviv City Council.
The document aims to implement joint projects that will strengthen the socio-economic stability of both cities.
The memorandum pays special attention to programmes that will attract grants and partner support, which will help Kharkiv recover faster.
Igor Terekhov stressed that this agreement is an important step towards uniting the efforts of Ukrainian cities in wartime. According to him, such cooperation will help consolidate efforts to rebuild the city.
«We are proud of our people and the military, who give us the opportunity to continue the fight. Before the war, we had strong ties with our sister cities, and today these partnerships are only gaining importance. This agreement is yet another proof that the East and West of Ukraine are working together for victory», - said Igor Terekhov.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, for his part, focused on the financial challenges faced by Ukrainian communities.
«Billions are needed to rebuild the country, and we are well aware that local resources are not enough. For example, one of the latest attacks on Lviv caused losses of one billion hryvnias. For Kharkiv, these losses reach hundreds of billions. Therefore, we are starting close cooperation, we hope for the support of the President, the government and, of course, our European partners», - said Andriy Sadovyi.
