Restoration and protection of energy facilities were discussed in Kharkiv
Today, on 31 January, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov took part in a working meeting with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The participants discussed the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities during the heating season, their protection and recovery from shelling.
According to Igor Terekhov, thanks to the serious preparations made in the summer, Kharkiv is going through the current heating season steadily. In particular, about 220 km of heating mains were relaid in the city and the infrastructure damaged by shelling was restored.
In addition, five cogeneration units with a capacity of 70 kW each are already in operation at the facilities of Kharkiv Heating Networks. And thanks to donor assistance, a project to install a 6 MW cogeneration plant is being implemented at CHPP-4. According to the mayor, this will make it possible to provide electricity to CHPP-4 and, as a result, to provide heat supply services during blackouts to about 260,000 consumers. Kharkiv has also installed 31 modular boiler houses that can operate autonomously and provide heat to 40,000 customers in the event of a power outage.
During the briefing, Herman Galushchenko noted that thanks to the coordinated work of local authorities and energy companies, the power system of Kharkiv and the region is functioning stably. And the region has reserves that can provide additional energy generation for the needs of consumers.
